it's been a year since she last risked her precious life and gotten on the plane to fly across the continent up high above the plains it's July and he'll be seeing her again the minutes tick and he can't see her in the thick of all the crowds around he's sick with worry that she won't be quick to hurry off the plane plus he's actually sick and feeling faint ooh ooh ooh ooh he wants to hold her ooh ooh ooh ooh and lay on her shoulder ooh ooh ooh ooh but she won't let him cuz she can't afford to catch his melancholy melody melancholy melody melancholy melody and then he sees her and he wants to run and squeeze her but he knows it wouldn't please her she's afraid of his disease for all its strife but fears like these keep her from living life ooh ooh ooh ooh he wants to hold her ooh ooh ooh ooh and lay on her shoulder ooh ooh ooh ooh but she won't let him cuz she can't afford to catch his melancholy melody melancholy melody melancholy melody melancholy melody melancholy melody melancholy melody

hear the sound of our lives passing by pure and simple like a summer sky hear the sound of laying in the grass saying nothing as the minutes pass ooh ooh as the minutes pass hear the sound of sunlight on our skin warm and shining like a copper string hear the sound of your voice in my ear it's the only sound I want to hear no I can't explain how it makes me feel when I hear you hear you say my name hear the sound of walking hand in hand like a wave returning to the sand hear the sound of staring at the stars like a whisper spoken from afar no I can't explain how it makes me feel when I hear you hear you say my name say my name and I’ll do the same in the dark I’ll stay by you and I’ll say your name say say say say

you told me that I wasn't good enough for you you told me that I wasn't strong enough to lift you up and I'd let you down you told me no matter how I tried I'd be a failure but I hate to break it to you I really don't care no no cuz it's the best I can do it's the hardest I can try no I won't let you get me down I won't let you through cuz it's the best I can do wait at a signal and the light turns green and I move on thinking I wander her face I let the dark out you told me no matter how I tried I'd be a failure but I hate to break it to you I really don't care no no cuz it's the best I can do it's the hardest I can try no I won't let you get me down I won't let you through cuz it's the best I can do there's nothing you can say to me to take away my dignity shame on you for throwing daggers when I've got no armor I admit I've made mistakes too quick to hit the brakes but I'll get going again it just takes me longer and I don't care cuz I'm doing the best that I can do it's the best that I can do and no one's gonna stop me

your stomach is grumbling your patience is crumbling the cupboards are bare your eventual complicity restored your electricity but there's nothing to spare now you travel the continent in search of free condiments it's terrible it's true but there are two things you can do you can throw yourself off of a plane or trick your brain it's so naive if you smile at yourself it will believe that you're satisfied and that you're pleased with this life that feels more like some bad disease smile at yourself your body is shivering since you've stopped delivering the money for rent you just couldn't stand slaving so you lived off your savings but now it's all spent you can't bring women back to your pad now that you're living with mom and dad it's terrible it's true but there are two things you can do you can throw yourself under a train or trick your brain it's so naive if you smile at yourself it will believe that you're satisfied and that you're pleased with this life that feels more like some bad disease you're an emotional wreck you're not playing with a full deck no no no no you're burning down like a cigarette till you're nothing but regret no no no no your head's in a tourniquet when are you gonna learn to get control of yourself zombies and cannibals and man eating animals are all coming after your brain pirates, parasites, politics and pesticides making me insane zombies and cannibals and man eating animals are all coming after my brain pirates, parasites, politics and pesticides making me insane trick your brain it's so naive if you smile at yourself it will believe that you're satisfied and that you're pleased with this life that feels more like some bad disease ooh ooh ooh ooh zombies

Pancake I love you and I think that you love me but I'll never know cuz you can't speak I'll tell you a secret and I'm sure that you'll keep it for that same reason Pancake I hear you and I know that you hear me cuz you're always there when I need you near me you know what I'm saying when I talk about staying and laying down you're my good boy and I love you Pancake I need you and I know that you need me cuz I keep your food where you can't reach and when company's coming and the dishes need scrubbing you'll do your best just don't tell the guests you're my good boy and I love you I've always wondered what kind of person would leave you in a dumpster in Arizona I think I've had it with people they'll use you till they're through with you but Pancake you'll always be true always be true you're my good boy and I love you

Sunshine 04:15
sitting in my living room I don't think I'll get up too soon waiting for a song to sing hoping that the phone won't ring tired of the same old tale selfish thoughts of how I'll fail waiting for a story from above I guess I'll sing a song about love see the light streaming out from everyone around you aren't you glad it found you go outside of your mind and find love is all around you like sunshine. spending your days worrying will only lead to burying yourself beneath a mound of fear and you've got to get out of here hiding in a book it doesn't matter where you look you won't find what I am speaking of I guess I'll sing a song about see the light streaming out from everyone around you aren't you glad it found you go outside of your mind and find love is all around you like sunshine, sunshine love, love, love love, love, love love is like sunshine it radiates from all the people around you but if you hid inside then the sunshine would never have found you then the sunshine would never have found you now I've found my tragic flaw surrounded but I never saw that they weren't there to push or there to shove they were there to share their love is all around you like sunshine

you don't have to be afraid of the starlight I will stay with you until the sunrise you don't have to be afraid of the night I'll be by your side so you can close your eyes when you need someone to hold you close when you feel like the punch line of a joke when you are lost and don't know which way you should go. I'll be there for you you don't have to be afraid of leaving I will always be there when you need me when you need someone to hold you close when you feel like the punch line of a joke when you are lost and don't know which way you should go. I'll be there for you when you need someone to hold you close when you feel like the punch line of a joke when you are lost and don't know which way you should go. I'll be there for you I'll be there for you I'll be there for you

Wake Up 02:46
I had a dream I had a wife she was the best thing in my life she loved me more than she could stand she said I'd always be her man and when I woke up I told her she just turned away her shoulder I said life would be much colder if you let your feelings smolder and life would be much colder if you harden like a boulder she said it's easy just do something for me I had a dream that I had friends and I'd do anything for them and if they ever felt alone I would call them on the phone and when I woke up I wished I knew what all my friends were up to were they happy with their lives or were they struggling to get through but I didn't even know at all cuz I couldn't bring myself to call they said it's easy just do something for me. na na na na na na na she and I float up high on a cloud of strawberry cream na na na na na na na swimming naked in a pool in a rainbow of velvet and green na na na na na na na we can do anything we please in our dreams and when I woke up I told her she just turned away her shoulder I said life would be much colder if you let your feelings smolder and life would be much colder if you harden like a boulder she said it's easy just do something she said it's easy just do something it's easy just do something for me

the moment came quickly her eyes rose and found you like a dark morning sun she told you everything you'd need to know nothing was said nothing was done you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know so many chances but all those romances were over before they began could've had love if you weren't so concerned that you might not be enough and if you keep guessing then you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know the moment came slowly like warm water flowing around you as she pulled you in all of your thoughts about how it would feel to end up all alone well it's something that you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know you'll never know

I always said it was the perfect thing I hate to be the one who's breaking it and if I seem at ease I'm faking it I always said you were so confident all I picture is the accident but you're sure to get hurt from my discontent I'm not here to stop you. and I'm not here to grieve I'm just trying to make all of this easier for you to leave easier for you to leave easier for you to easier for you to leave there's still so much more for you to learn but you're better off without me and my constant concern I'm not here to stop you and I'm not here to grieve I'm just trying to make all of this easier for you to leave easier for you to leave easier for you to easier for you to leave I'm not here to stop you and I'm not here to grieve I'm just trying to make all of this easier for you to leave easier for you to leave easier for you to easier for you to leave

in the morning you’ll wake up to the sunshine and you’ll see that it’s a brand new day in the morning you’ll wake up to the new time and you’ll see that you are on your way in the morning you’ll wake up to the sunshine and you’ll see that it’s a brand new day in the morning you’ll wake up to the new time and you’ll see that you are on your way I once thought that my life was decided by external forces tied to four horses that dragged me away from my nephews and nieces I hope I don’t end up in four separate pieces can I feed my family when there’s a quarter of me and what good to my friends would I be but what about what’s inside of me I’ve gotta let it out you can do it there's nothing to it be proud of each day as you make your own way you can do it there's nothing to it be proud of each day as you make your own way yeah yeah, yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah you can do it there's nothing to it be proud of each day as you make your own way

it's not the end of the road it's just the end of these stories I've told it's not the end of the road it's just the end of these stories I've told there is no map there is no chart I'm just following my heart, yeah it's not the end of the road it's just the end of these stories I've told it's not the end of the road it's just the end of these stories I've told I never tell myself to breathe it goes automatically it's not the end of the road it's just the end of these stories I've told it's not the end of the road it's just the end of these stories I've told don't worry I'll be back again I just don't know when we'll be through the dark and cold further down the road
